VENEERS
What are Veneers?
Veneers are very thin slices of porcelain or composite that are custom made for each tooth. Veneers are attached to the front of your teeth.
How are Veneers Applied?
First, a half millimeter of enamel is removed from the front surface of the tooth. The tooth is then "roughed up" using phosphoric acid. Resin cement and the veneer are then applied to the tooth. The procedure takes at least two visits.
Why are Veneers a Lifetime Commitment?
Porcelain veneers are permanent because of the half millimeter of enamel that is removed from the front of the teeth; this significantly alters the tooth structure.
How Often Will I Have to Repair or Redo my Veneers?
Plastic Veneers usually only last 5-7 years. Porcelain veneers last 10-15 years.
How Expensive are Veneers?
Porcelain veneers can cost between $900 and $2000 per tooth. Plastic veneers cost approximately $150 per tooth.
